Wesley Wyndam-Pryce was one of the most complex and intriguing characters on Angel. He started out as a naive Watcher, more dangerous in his zeal than anything else. But he grew, as people do, coming to a better understanding of how the world worked. He became a close ally of Angel's, only to fall prey to his own misconceptions. Over the course of his arc, he lost friends, got his throat slit, failed his Slayer, got tortured, freed his Slayer, fell into bed with Lilah in dark despair, fell in love with Fred (Winifred), and consequently watched both women die. He went out fighting, and I can honestly say that it was his death that hit me hardest between the two shows. He came in a wuss and grew into a man, becoming one of the most badass good guys Joss Whedon had ever created. Had he lived, I think he and Faith could have taken the world by storm. Broken and bleeding, he fought with everything he had.

I adored Wesley, he was my favourite Buffy/Angel character. His love affair with Fred was so tragic, even from teh beginning when she chose Gunn over Wes :(

Definitely the best thing in the Angel/Buffy universe. You've made me miss him now ;)

He really was my favorite character, with Faith close behind. He was so gritty and real by the end of it, and I think he definitely had the most growth of all the characters.
