A little SVU drabble for you guys.
The only sound he could hear was the pounding of his heart in his chest. The courtroom erupted into chaos as bullets burst through the air, crashing into walls and people with equal abandon. Court officers and onlookers fell to the floor, either to avoid the shots or because they were forced down when the bullets ripped through their bodies. His own gun was out, but it was already too late – officers had come bursting into the room at the sound of gunfire, and they promptly took down the person responsible for the death and carnage.
Still in shock, his eyes shifted to look around him. It was impossible to take it all in. The ex-girlfriend of the defendant had used a machine gun to take down as many people as possible in the few short seconds she had. Somewhere in the back of his head, he knew that she had had help, that this was an inside job.
But all thoughts of investigation fled when his gaze rested on the Assistant District Attorney. Suddenly freed from his paralysis, he rushed to her side, ignoring the cries and pleas that were just now reaching his ears. Kneeling, he stared at the gaping wound in her stomach with something akin to helplessness.
"Don…" she whispered, one hand coming up to clench his arm.
He held her hand and cradled her head in his lap, the blood soaking through his pant legs, staining them.
"Hold on, Casey," he choked. "Hold on."

Sep. 16th, 2007 10:36 pmI decided to continue my little Benson/Green story from Law & Order. I'm going to try and do the story arc in a series of 100-word drabbles. Here is the second:
Ed watched his new partner carefully as they worked. He knew that she hadn’t been entirely honest with him about why she transferred to Homicide. There were no secrets in the NYPD, and rumor had it that there was something between her and Eliot Stabler, her former partner. Looking at her now, Ed doubted that Olivia would have an affair with a married man. She was too principled, too strong in her own convictions.
He just hoped she understood that she deserved better than to wait around for a man who was too afraid to act on his own feelings.

Sep. 14th, 2007 09:42 amI'm just branching out all over the place! Here's a tiny little Law & Order drabble. It was written for
lawandorder100, which means that it could only be 100 words. This is 106. L&O/SVU crossover.

She had been working Sex Crimes for so long, that Olivia was unsure that she really knew how to do anything else. But she needed to get away from Elliot, completely and totally. He was her best friend and she missed him so much that it hurt, but she just couldn't do it anymore. When she found out that Kathy was pregnant and he had moved back home, Olivia knew that she needed to get over him and move on with her life.
As she looked across her new desk in Homicide, Ed Green gave her a big smile.
"You ready to go, partner?" he asked.
